Battle of the Adult Apps
Since I reported on the new Naughty Cities app for the iPhone and Android based smart phones back in August another two apps designed to help people find local strip clubs and adult entertainment have come on to the radar, namely Strip Club Finder and Gentleman’s Club Finder Plus (CF+). It’s not surprising that more adult entertainment smart phone apps have emerged since the Naughty Cities app (at time of writing) only catered for 3 major cities, those being London, Berlin and New York; and with a new city being added each month meant it would be a long wait for the app to cater for people in many of the world’s other cities. This was and still is the main criticism for the Naughty Cities app, but are the contenders any better?
Strip Club Finder currently only caters for the USA, with Canada and Europe supposedly coming soon, so you may have to wait a little longer if you want to use it find adult clubs in London. Strip Club finder uses GPS and/or street address to locate the strip clubs in any US city. The best thing about this app is that it’s free to install. Unfortunately the downside is the source of the information may be long out of date, with criticisms claiming it includes clubs which closed down up to 9 years ago, some clubs are missing from its index and that it provides very little info other than the strip clubs’ location.
Gentleman’s CF+ has 4000 clubs in its database and by the looks of it, will only cater for the USA. It uses the smart phone’s GPS system coupled with the Google map to pin point all the clubs in your area, and touching each ‘pin’ will give more detailed information such as opening and closing times, whether or not food is available and of course, the location and other contact details. Of three mentioned in this article, Gentleman’s CF+ is by far the most user friendly and comprehensive, however for those of us wanting for find adult clubs in London make it pretty much useless. The developers may expand beyond US borders in the future, but there’s no mention of that at the time of writing.
For the time being it looks like the only adult entertainment app which caters for residents of the UK is Naughty Cities, and even that currently only covers London. Strip Club finder may cater for more of the UK in the near future, however depending on where it draws it’s data from, it may well list numerous adult clubs in London which has long since closed. As far as the present is concerned, it appears that the good old fashioned search engine is still the best way to find adult entertainment on a smart phone.
